Experience
I teach math classes at a middle school in the Houston, Texas area, where I am additionally certified to teach regular mathematics classes and pre-AP-level math. I began my college career at Wright State University, where I earned a bachelor's degree in psychology. After graduation, I transferred to the University of Houston-Clear Lake, where I earned my master's degree in behavioral psychology. My love for math and background in psychology led me to teaching. I completed an education program to become a certified math teacher for children in grades 4 through 8. Currently, I'm working to obtain certification to teach mathematics to children in grades 8 through 12.I specialize in tutoring students in elementary and middle-school math, as well as Pre-Algebra an Algebra 1. I feel that algebra is more useful in real-life situations, and in order to help my students grasp and retain the information that they are learning, I try to relate the math problems to other areas of life. Additionally, I'm available to tutor students taking psychology, AP psychology, and social sciences classes, and I have experience tutoring students with ADD/ADHD. In my free time, I enjoy completing craft projects and cooking. I also like to plan events and watch football.
